I find it hard to believe that fifty years have passed since I watched Sandie Shaw shuffle barefoot onto the stage in Vienna to give her all with Puppet on a String. 

For a while I never missed the annual Eurovision contest... France Gall and Abba are unforgotten. I last watched the show in 2010 when Lena Meyer-Landrut won for Germany. This year my adopted homeland will be represented in Kiev by singer-songwriter  Levina Lueen who, I discovered, studied at King's College London for her bachelor's degree while Jessi was working there on her master's.
