Technology. Entertainment. Design

Chris Anderson's 'Long Tail' essay was one of the true eye-openers for me, in my exploration of the possibilities of 'do-it-yourself low-budget media'.

Now thanks to JoshSpear.Com I have discovered the TED conference.

Technology. Entertainment. Design. Basically what I'm about, succinctly put. But how I wish I could attend the conference event described by Chris Anderson here.

Another far-away event is scheduled for 8 March, an on-line seminar. Via CamcorderInfo I came across this post by Adam Nielson, And the best online video service is...

"The Mobile and Internet Performance Authority may soon be able to tell you the best website for sharing your videos with others. This week they plan to reveal the findings of an extensive study which monitored streaming video quality from some of the web's top user generated video sites. Among the list are sites like YouTube, Yahoo, MetaCaffe and Revver, all of which are competing for the number one spot in the lnoine video market. The findings will cover what videos are successful, how each site drives traffic, and who boasts the best overall connection speed.

Content producers who want to distribute their videos on the web have so many options today and, while it's a given that YouTube is number one in web web traffic, many sites like Revver and Blip TV offer users a better deal for clips. This first of it's kind study is sure to help people know which user generated video site is the best for their content, and keep the competition among sites fierce... which is always good for us consumers. The Mobile and Internet Performance Authority plans to release their findings on March 8th around 11:00 am (PST) during an online seminar."
