Les Bravades is the commemoration of a certain Torpetius, better known and beatified as, yes, Saint Tropez.
It is loud, with muskets discharged at regular intervals. It is the hook on which Anthony Peregrine hangs a lovely article in The Telegraph. And it allows me to carry my trope Tropezien to further ridiculous lengths.
