The ladies in holiday mode! Normally I would be with them, given that Christmas Eve is the big celebration in continental Europe, not Christmas Day. But I baulked at the idea of dealing with four flights of stairs to reach the flat, a shuffle that would have been both debilitating and humiliating for Auld Da!

Anyway, having come reluctantly to accept that I am reverting to my old habit of ignoring Christmas as much as possible, they'll be visiting me tomorrow. They may even have to listen to the Queen's broadcast!
