Do buy again

Again the Sandlander blog has been interrupted by a further two overnights in Dubai. Riding in the taxi on Wednesday evening I contemplated the full moon shining over the desert and reflected on the fact that I used to hate the mid-December to mid-January period in Europe. Ever tried to conclude any important business in those weeks? Hoped for a reply to an important letter? 'Nuff said.

Here things do tend to slow down, but given that the normal pace of things is so turgid at the best of times and even with Christmas Eid Al Ahda and New Year coinciding the slowing is not so remarkable.

And for me personally, since mid-December there have been more exciting developments than in the whole of the year preceding.
