P2P or not P2P

Beet.TV (link in blogroll at theleft) points to a Forrester Research report which finds that seven percent of the online consumers in North America are uploading videos at least once a month. The report is based on an online Forrester survey undertaken last fall of 5,000 people in the U.S. and Canada who use the Web regularly.

And how are these videos spreading virally? By being embedded in blogs, forwarded by emailed links, passed on through P2P sharing.

In earlier posts about The Venice Project (now Joost) I expressed some concerns about the whole P2P movement. Now I find that Mark Cuban has similar reservations.

However almost all of the comments in this long thread seem to say that he and I are wrong. Well at least I find myself in illustrious company!

Last Monday the MediaGuardian had its own take on Joost.
