My own experience over the past month that I have been using the service is that my original optimism was well founded.
Anyone with design sensitivities must agree that, when embedded in a blog, the Brightcove player invites the play command. The fact that Google selects a random image as static frame produces some horrendously ugly embeds, whereas Brightcove allows a still to be selected for display. Nice!
Another positive point worth mentioning - Brightcove's customer support has been fantastic, fast and friendly, guiding this aged newbie gently through the kind of complexities which always arise when using unfamiliar software.
Thanks, guys!

Good to hear! (By the way, I saw this post because Jeremy sent it to everyone at Brightcove.)
