Enlightenment spreads


Even when I was fortunate enough to have the designation movie producer, due to the fact that the end product was destined for theatrical distribution, I was already one of the small minority who saw no basic difference between creating for cinema or television.

That was back in the late seventies and I find it amazing that today, with digital ubiquity, the snobbery still persists.

Jackson West at NewTeeVee posts today and scolds remaining stubbornly arrièriste moviemakers: "The digital age is already here for video, meaning that the motion picture industry should stop thinking about ‘film versus television versus the web,’ and start thinking about new ways to explore the art of storytelling in the age of digital production and reproduction."
