Not complaining, though

The photo capturing the weather and mood of England's 2007 summer comes from a Guardian reader named Nick Jones.

And the story below is from today's Gulf News.

Dubai: Weather forecasters have warned that yesterday's uncomfortable conditions are likely to be repeated today. High levels of humidity are expected to combine with temperatures of more than 40C to create the unpleasant weather. The meteorologists' comfort index reached eight yesterday, which represents
"extremely uncomfortable" conditions.

British expatriate James Evans, 35, said: "It definitely seemed like the worse day so far. I was outside for just a few minutes waiting for a taxi and my shirt was drenched in sweat. "It makes you realise that summer is well and truly here and it makes me wish I could go away for a while."

The maximum temperature in Dubai yesterday was 41C and the minimum was 32C, neither of which is unusual for this time of year. It was high humidity levels during the middle of the day - due to north-westerly winds bringing in moisture from the sea - that made conditions so uncomfortable. In the early afternoon relative humidity in Dubai was
62 per cent
