CPM #6

Such rotten luck, mes amis! Paris would have celebrated so beautifully in streets where the walls of the buildings, particularly cafés and bars, were decorated with imagery celebrating les bleus and giant jerseys hung as banners.

Chez Fernand, at the left, was always one of my favourite brasseries even when devoid of decoration.

One pub in Rue Princesse, suitably named Frog & Rosbif, dared to placard its walls with huge likenesses of the English team. On the night, as a Scot, I cheered for France. And on Saturday, as a Scot, I shall of course support England.

Confusing, non?
