Scarlet

At the NAB in Las Vegas new additions to the Red videocamera range were announced. The Scarlet will go on sale next year at under three thousand dollars. And, yup, that's with 3K resolution. It seems like only yesterday that I signed a purchase order for an analogue Betacam camcorder at over ten times the price delivering the resolution represented by that tiny box at the bottom right of the chart. Ah, progress.... But where, I wonder, is it all going to end?

Imagine the size of videofiles captured at 3k resolution... And remember that the internet is, truly, not a truck but a series of tubes. I fear I'm not the only one predicting burst pipes somewhere along the line.
