The tension mounts

"We shall win!" cries the headline on today's issue of a Munich tabloid. It's a double-decker head, bi-lingual, German and Turkish.

Although the local equivalent of Guardianistas maintain liberally as is their wont that, with so many German residents being of Turkish origin, the match is in a sense Germany_1 vs. Germany_2. Whichever team makes it through to the Euro 2008 final, let us hope that tonight's victory celebrations remain peaceful and without acrimony or violence.
