Think different

The screen-cap is from MobuzzTV's coverage of the story in today's show. And this is the lead from The Unofficial Apple Weblog's (TUAW) post:

Axel Springer AG, Germany's largest newspaper publisher, is moving its entire organization - 12,000 computers - to the Mac platform. Axel Springer will become Apple's largest corporate customer in Europe, and second largest customer worldwide. (Google is number one.)

Far be it from me to begrudge Apple this sales success. It's just that, when reading about this...

Well, I recall the famous 1984 "think different" television spot for Macintosh and wonder if I am the only one to see the irony. Springer's arch-conservative and nationalistic voice is not one raised to cry "think different"...

Then the mention of Google, who also have a slogan, "do no evil". Not, of course, that Springer's tabloid, Bild Zeitung, is evil. The headline from 2005 defends the newly elected Pope against the taunting headline in Europe's other sensationalist newspaper, The Sun, "From Hitler Youth To Papa Ratzi".

Enough of this... See where 'free association' gets you?
