Blues and twos

Read here about how Germany is unexpectedly involved in the best possible way when, all too often, there's a fire here in Abu Dhabi. They were still putting this one out when I arrived on Saturday evening and the street parallel to the one where I live was blocked off.

Am I glad that I live on the fourth floor? Yup! And during my absence there's been much progress on the construction site surrounding my tower.

The mighty cranes dance outside my living room window, with the Liebherrs swinging their loads not ten metres away. Main anxiety... one of the bundled fasces of rebar coming flying through the glass.
