Back to normal!

Oh joy, oh rapture unforeseen,

The clouded sky is now serene...

There was a sky of blue for the final day of the Oktoberfest.

Six million visitors...

Seven million litres of beer enjoyed...

No major disturbances reported...

One marginal note: it used to be the case that wearers of traditional Bavarian dress tended to be rather traditional people and the term 'country bumpkin' quite often came to mind.

But in comparison with years past I now detect an enthusiasm for the costume among the trendy teens, who then had no compunction about going clubbing in the folkloristic/ethno attire after the beer stopped flowing at the Theresienwiese.

It's a trend I rather like...
