In all my time in the Sandlands, I never felt safe (from the 'government').
I never did my deposit back from TECOM. They almost posted me as an absconder, because I didn't cancel my residence visa. I didn't think I needed to because it expired six monthas after we left (plus, it is supposed to be automatically cancelled if you are outside the country for six months).
Mad, mad, mad. I don't think I'll ever go back there.
