The Grauniad Club


My comment on the video, as posted to the Guardian:

This is the clever and civilized approach to monetization. It is a recognition that many Guardian readers are happy to be identified as such, as members of a community.

My prediction is that there will be 'extra' content, but not in a context comparable to the articles hidden behind the pay-walls being introduced as knee-jerk reactions to the evolution of news, reporting, news aggregating and news delivery.

I anticipate, yes, 'offers and events'. I look forward to the branded merchandise... (I always wanted that Herald-Tribune tee-shirt worn by Jean Seberg in "Breathless"!)

If the question is WWGD (What Would the Guardian Do?) I think Extra is a fitting answer, Right, Jeff?
