At this time of year my thoughts have always wandered off in a southerly direction. With the month of June in Munich cold, drizzly and blustery I have certainly succumbed to that automatic nostalgia of late... a hankering for the Provence, the Var, the Hérault, Languedoc-Rouissillon.
But now we have flooding in the Var to an extent not seen since 1827, with at the time of posting no fewer than 20 fatalities and at least 12 missing.
I read of a pensioner couple who have for years spent six months of each year in their caravan. This was indeed a dream of mine... the vans below dedicated to the Sun-God Ra... one for me and the other for guests... The thing about dreams is that they are fragile... they shatter so easily.
