Weekend Video 2

I loved Leonard Cohen's original version. I must have listened to the album in 1970 and 1971 hundreds of times as I struggled with the decision whether to leave London (where there was a 'Suzanne') and move to Paris.

This version is by Vocal Line, and a capella ensemble who will be coming to Munich in September.

Great version.

Aside from Cohen's rendition, k.d. lang's sends shivers through me each time I hear it.

She sang it at the opening ceremony at the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Simply sublime. Unfortunately, there's no official clips of it on YouTube, and the best one I've found is some fuzzy footage shot by someone who was at the ceremony. The original sound feed was so much better.

Another k.d. lang live version here which is also superb.

Thanks for the tip! The k.d.lang Winnepeg performance is awesome. But when is she not awesome?
