Those of us interested in audiovisual storytelling will be impressed the the BBC decision to accept image capture using HD capable DSLRs.

The story is here on Philip Bloom's site.

Somewhere on Philip's site is an account of time that he spent on George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch, demonstrating DSLRs for movie work, and then another when he went on set of the latest Lucas film to do some shooting. It's fascinating.

I fully agree. I subscribe to Philip's RSS feed on Google Reader and find that his efforts to promote DSLR acquisition is as important as Michael Rosenblum's campaign to promote 'video literacy' in general.

There's another site that I follow which promotes DSLR usage - mostly the Canon 5D2 and 7D but will diversify as more of them are added to the Canon arsenal.
