Vision and reality

I found the idea of traffic lights which resemble egg-timers a cute notion. Some designer obviously gave the matter considerable thought.

And yet I must admit that the solution implemented at the busy cross-walk just below my office... and at several other locations in Abu Dhabi... is a big step forward.

It is interesting to see how patient people become, simply because they are informed how long their wait will be.
