Reading matters

Yesterday I finished Sebastian Faulks' A Week In December, having intentionally made it last for numerous reading sessions. It was certainly one of the best reads of 2010. An odd marginal note... the week in question ends in the book on the 23rd of December, as did my reading of the novel!

For today at the beach... and later while enjoying turkey and the trimmings (or maybe just fines de claires) at Le Beaujolais... I have once again allowed myself to wallow in another tale of the Templars. My expectations of the Requiem by Robyn Young are... modest. I shall be entertained, but not more.

What a joy it would be if a writer of the calibre of Faulks took the Templars or the Cathars as his subject...
