Weekend... chain letter?

Chain letters are for me anathema! But bloggers whose words I read with pleasure have previously filled out this questionnaire and I feel honoured to be asked by the muffin-maker of Madrid to follow suit. So here goes...

1. If you blog anonymously, are you happy with this? If you aren't anonymous, do you wish you started out anonymously so that you could be anonymous now?
Anonymity was sacrificed to vanity the moment I put my portrait on the blog.

2. Describe an incident that describes your stubborn side.
My comportment yesterday at the UAE-Oman border during the interminable formalities and frustrations of the ‘visa run’, a form of ‘stamp collecting’ peculiar to the Sandlands.

3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?
Someone of an age I never thought of attaining. Ringo was right, though.

4. What is your favourite summer cold drink?
A pastis to start, then chilled Chateau Minuty Rosé with a light supper.

5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
Read or write.

6. Is there something that you still want to accomplish in your life?
A lot more reading and a lot more writing and getting some of the latter published.

7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever, the shy person or always ditching?
Ditching? I mastered very early the ability to answer the not-quite-the-question-asked so well that it was favourably marked. An apprenticeship in bullshitting.

8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment in your life, what do you see.
Such moments started in 1998 with the birth of my daughter and haven’t stopped since. I count myself very lucky.

9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog, or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people and events?
My posts are a mix of personal, professional and the completely trivial. My life is thus accurately reflected.

10. If you had the choice to sit down and read a book or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
I use the telephone only to make or confirm appointments. But a day without reading is a day which is unsatisfying.

Now I'm supposed to nominate three more bloggers. I shall lumber nzm with the task, I think, and McNabb been and gone and done it already. But a couple of others will spring to mind in due course...

Well, the alliteration's nice, but I've never made a muffin in my life!

Thanks, but I was already nominated by Seabee, and have yet to do it!
