Jubilee? Jawohl!

Sixty units of a special Bentley Mulsanne edition will be built to celebrate Her Majesty's jubilee. On the face of it, a nice patriotic gesture, even if the car will mainly find buyers in China, Russia and Araby. And it is indeed a fine looking motor car.

And yet...

I wonder if the registration number provides a clue? 'WO' could hint at Wolfsburg, the city which hosts the headquarters of the Volkswagen concern which is intent on becoming the number '1' car manufacturer in the world. And, of course, Bentley is a subsidiary marque in the VW group.

Never mind, it was the Queen's grandfather who changed to name of the royal house from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha in 1917.

So I guess all is well... jawohl!
