Bayern
Munich have wrapped up the Bundesliga title with a record-breaking six
games to spare after a 1-0 victory at Eintracht Frankfurt. Such has been
Bayern's dominance of the German top flight that no other side has
claimed the title this early in the Bundesliga's 50 years.
Germany
star Bastian Schweinsteiger scored the decisive goal to give Bayern its
24th win from 28 league games this season and seal the first major
silverware the Bavarian giant has won since May 2010.
"I
never became a champion at such chilly temperatures, neither as a
player nor as a coach," Jupp Heynckes said after leading Bayern to the
title for the third time in his third stint as coach. It was 6 degrees Centigrade
during the game.
