When I blogged my Glasto post a couple of weeks back I mentioned that the only really significant rock event I ever attended was Stones in the Park in 1969. It was memorable being there with wife one and a three-year-old Nicholas in his pushchair.
It was amazingly satisfying to get a comment from Nick who advised me that "only 44 years and 8 days" later he would once again be in the park for last weekend's concert. I find this little bit of continuity by proxy absolutely marvelous!
Not for me to make any profound statements about fatherhood, given that I have not excelled in that department. It is therefore undeserved satisfaction when I feel a warm and fuzzy glow occasioned by the doings of the kids.
Yesterday came the wonderful news that the Bachelor Thesis which Jessi submitted to complete her studies in Maastricht was graded with an 'A' (taking the American equivalent of a Dutch 7.5).
"No, you can't always get what you want
But if you try sometime, you just might find
You get what you need!"
Rock on, kids!
