A voice silenced


The iconic New York alternative weekly newspaper is the latest print publication to shutter its physical media doors. Owner Peter Barbey released a statement yesterday announcing the Village Voice’s print closure but assured readers the publication would continue to operate online.

How amazingly hip I felt, in Dallas in the late 1950s, buying the Voice from time to time and eventually discovering the movie reviews by Andrew Sarris.
