Six months on

It was after I attended the MipCom television program market even in Cannes last October that I decided to join the bloggers.

After six months I see that I have contributed 165 posts, not too far short of daily updating.

Since I signed on to Google Analytics just before last Christmas a total of just 757 unique visitors have sampled the blog, spent an average of almost three minutes on the site and generated 1,847 page views.

It has been amusing to see from the map that I've had visitors from the remotest corners of all the world's continents.

This post got the most traffic, possibly because it was mentioned on the Wired SexDrive blog.

Although my readers are very, very few I plan to continue. Partly because in parallel with my blogging I also tried to launch a 'do-it-yourself low-budget media' project...

Didn't. Quite. Work.

And I'll be reporting on this in detail, avoiding self-exculpation and aiming to achieve two purposes. Firstly, to alert others thinking along the same lines of pitfalls to look out for. Secondly, explore ways of resuming the project on a more sound basis after this initial trial run.
