Tempus fu**it: The weekend video: Let's get lost

Lost in another bit of the past but one not prompted by any discovery in my archives. The trailer below is for Let's Get Lost, Bruce Weber's documentary devoted to Chet Baker, soon to be re-released. Hardly a weekend goes by without me playing the CD of the same name, recorded in 1956, before he became the brave wreck I used to run into in Chelsea in the sixties (London, not New York).

I wouldn't call him a friend back then. He was a presence, though, and I'm pretty sure that the state he was often in, shambling into the Kenya Coffee House on Kings Road, was for me the most effective warning imaginable to stay clear of drugs any harder than grass.
