Revolting!

It's nothing compared with what's happening in Teheran.

But among Germany's high school, college and university students there is the feeling that a strike and nationwide demonstrations are fully justified.

Their protests are aginst a sclerotic education system from which my daughter thankfully emerged on Monday.

Her Abitur result of 2.7 compares pretty much exactly (according to the Wiki article explaining how the German grades are to be read in terms of the American system) with my own B average all those years ago when I graduated from Averill High School on the banks of the Kennebec River in Maine.

She has the banks of Munich's Isar to sit upon and think what comes next!

Actually what comes next is a stretch limo to take her and her clique to the big fat celebration planned for the 26th of June! Where I shall, inevitably, shed a tiny tear! It seems like only yesterday that she... yadda, yadda, yadda...
