Cannes notes

The MipCom excursion began on an enjoyable note when our chairman opted to have our 'kick off' meeting at a hotel in Mougins, high above Cannes.

The view from the terrasse reminded me of so many movies, indeed of two I myself had a hand in.

The cuisine at le Mas Candille is not particularly adventurous but those who know me as one who has a limited appetite may be surprised to learn that I happily dealt with a six-course dinner menu!

This was a good start to our week, particularly when we learned that the weather forecast promised temperatures in the upper twenties for the duration of our visit.

The above shot was snapped from my table at Le Mocca, directly across from the conference and market venue and purveyor of the nearest decent cappuccino, given that they serve only muck in the Palais itself. The early morning haze quickly gave way to cloudless skies.

Did I say the weather was beautiful? Oh, sorry!

The video wall installed at one of the main entrances to the Palais was a real eye-catcher, showing footage which certainly made people very aware of Motorvision TV.

Those who were intrigued by our video wall found themselves visiting our stand which was kitted out with very impressive touch screen terminals on which sample episodes of the eight automotive-themed series we were offering on the international market could be viewed.

A final modest indulgence at Chez Freddy. 12 excellent fines de claires and a bottle of Chateau Minuty. Says it all, somehow.
