Tempus f***it!

The first episode of the German soap opera Gute Zeiten Schlechte Zeiten (Good Times Bad Times) was broadcast on 11 May 1992. Today it comes of age, eighteen years on the air, an eternity measured in 'cliff-hangers'.

The series was a mere two-year-old toddler when I became its Daddy... okay, Producer... in May 1994. And I was full of paternal pride when at the end of that year we scored what was then the highest ever audience for a single episode, 5.95 million viewers and aa market share of 21.6%.
