Le Poinconneur Des Lilas

Serge Gainsbourg once wrote a song called Le Poinconneur Des Lilas, dedicated to the man who punches tickets at the Les Lilas metro station in Paris. Now, near that station, Gainsbourg has his own garden, which was inaugurated yesterday by his wife Jane Birkin and daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg. It's bound to become yet another pilgrim's place for the millions of fans of the man who died nearly twenty years ago.
