We have the year's longest, darkest night behind us! This is a festival I find far more meaningful than Christmas. It has symbolized renewal for thousands of years in the most diverse cultures.
Renewal is, I think, a powerful concept. It is simple, pure and unsullied by tinsel and tat. It is not associated with corpulent faux saints re-invented by Coca Cola.
And, if in the coming days I post videos of beautiful Christmas music, then I ask you to think about renewal when you hear the harmonies.
