A different screen

For many years both the Eurovision Song Contest and the Monaco Grand Prix have been for me firm television viewing appointments.

Sandie Shaw... 'Puppet On A String'... in black-and-white in 1967... and then with almost religious fidelity in the years thereafter.

The race in Monte Carlo... as of the late seventies, when I was often so close to the Principality on the day after the Cannes Film Festival. And then during the Schumacher era.

But this year I think a different screen will claim my attention, that of my new Kindle.
