Saturnalia again

Here we go again! It is the shortest day of another year, the ancient festival I would be much more inclined to celebrate than the holiday later co-opted by the Christian church.

I cannot help but feel a scintilla of optimism when this day comes and there is the knowledge that things are going to be getting brighter, minute by minute, day for day,  for then ext half year.
