Blogito ergo sum

Both the witty transliteration of Bavarian dialect or an ironic and the very British observation seem equally apt to mark the start of my seventy-fifth year.

 

I didn't realize it until I left the flat to go off to a voiceover recording session and found the U-Bahn full of strngley costumed people that today is also Fasching, Mardi Gras. In England Shrove Tuesday is also 'Pancake Day', which demands that even the Royals must participate. Whether in Aberdeen on the day I was born food rationing would have permitted pancakes to be fried, I cannot know. I suspect that the world into which I arrived was very uncertain and rather austere.
