Real estate development company Nakheel has released the results of two surveys conducted in April to examine the importance of tourism to Dubai and how new property developments are contributing to the emirate's economy.
The results show that most visitors to Dubai originate from the UK. The survey also found that two thirds of respondents would be enticed to visit Dubai by high-profile developments such as Nakheel's The Palm.
Those enticed by life on one of the Palm developments should consider this, a mene tekel I posted about a month back.
Honestly, in the half-lifetime that I have been an expatriate I fear my countrymen have gone mad! Today's forecast high temperature is 40 degrees, cooling to 30 degrees overnight. The next three months will be even hotter. So the Brits are not coming for the beach life, are they!
Which leaves little else apart from visiting the various the shopping malls, admiring en route the gargantuan construction sites and, maybe, counting the tower cranes.
